BCC PARAMOUNT: ROUND 4 STRATEGIES EMERGE

Two days away from Spring (March 20, 2013, at 7:02 AM Daylight Savings Time, Vernal Equinox) we have a snowy, wet day.  Last night, as pawns and pieces leapt to their strategic positions on the six boards of the BCC Paramount 10 2RR, snowflakes were falling. This morning I found this:
Luckily we play chess indoors.  So the Paramount, Round 4, continued, unabated.
Here we have Jonathan Mark Lee, facing off with black vs NM Eric Godin.
It is at this point that congratulations are in order. For Jonathan won the Class A Section of the Eastern Class Chammpionships 2013, played this past weekend (March 15 - 17) in Sturbridge, MA. His score was 4.5 out of 5, good for $900 and the praises of his chess colleagues. Bravo Jonathan!

FM CHASE CLICKS 4 IN A ROW FOR 1ST IN BCC 4SS

Fide Master Chris Chase proved unstoppable in the March 16th 4SS Tornado clinching 1st place in a field of 22 players, with a perfect 4 - 0 score.
NM Godin faces FM Chase's quiet setup in Round 4 of 4SS.
Luke Lung v Brian Salomon play in Round 4. Salomon and Godin went 2-3rd in standings.
Lung was 4-9th, along with Eldridge, Tang, Xu, Aidan Sowa and Griffin.

BCC THURSDAY NIGHT SWISS (TNS) REVIVAL

CHESS FOR THE SERIOUS MIND. A QUIET VENUE. A DEEP CALCULATION.
Harold Dondis, Esq. Yes! the man who beat Bobby Fischer in a simul in 1964; yes, the man who argued cases before the US Supreme Court; yes, the oldest active amateur chess player in the USA, at 90+, invites you to join him for Round 2 of the Boylston Chess Club's Thursday Night Swiss (time control, a nice slow 40/90, SD 20). Last Thursday was very snowy. The snow has melted and tomorrow's weather forecast looks a lot better. So, come over to the BCC and join the tournament, with a half-point bye for Round 1. You still have a chance to win the event.

FORMER US CHAMPION, GRANDMASTER LARRY CHRISTIANSEN ENTERTAINED THE  LARGE CROWD WHICH GATHERED AT SOUTH STATION TO WATCH AND PLAY CHESS. LARRY, FRIENDLY AS EVER, WOWED THOSE BRAVE ENOUGH TO SIT DOWN TO PLAY WITH TACTICAL GENIUS AND STRATEGIC FORTITUDE.
