Bennet Pellows faces off with Nithin Kavi, Round 4.

Bennet scored a perfect 4 - 0 for clear 1st Place in the
Open Section and earned a +42 rating hike to 2208.  Bravo,
Bennet! This is the first time that Bennet's 

rating has gone over 2200. Nithin scored 3 points to move

his rating up +8 to 2146 and a share of 2-3rd place.

NM Chris Williams prepares his game against Bennet Pellows
in Round 3. This would be an all-out effort to win for both
players. In the end, Pellows emerged victorious and went
on to win the event in the Open Section.  Chris was 2-3rd
with 3 points.

Chris scored 3 points for a piece of 2-3rd place and

Alan scored 2.5 points for a share of 5-7th place.
Alan was +18 to 2007 (expert) rating for the event.

U1800 SECTION 

Josh Keller: 4-0 for 1st Place.

 

Josh Keller (right) plays black vs Tianna Wang in this
critical 3rd Round game. They both had 2 points.
Josh won this game and went on to score a perfect 4-0 to
clinch clear 1st place in the U1800 Section. Josh went from a
provisional ration of 1467 to a provisional 1657. Bravo Josh!
Tianna finished the event with 2.5 points.

Vlad went on to score 3.5 points to secure clear 2nd place

ROUND 4 ACTION

Bob Oresick (orange) plays white vs. Ryan Wang. Bob won
this game to score 3 points and a share 3-4th place. Bob was
+1 to 1649 rating. Ryan was 50% with 2 wins and 2 loses.

Jonathan Hsu scored 3 points to share
3-4th place with Bob Oresick.
Jonathan played Bob in Round 3 and won!
So Jonathan and Josh each had 3 points
as they faced off in Round 4.
