A friend shared with me this interesting article in the Telegraph about Penrose's chess puzzle:

Hi its Tejavir Chadha,

Is the answer that you just need to keep the white king on the white squares, and then either 50 moves pass by, or black moves bishop on e5 away if it blunders, and white promotes 6 to a queen.

I mean doesn't it seem that obvious? That's exactly how I see it which just makes me think I'm missing something lol

Seems to me white keeps the king on white squares, does not move pawns, thus pinning black except for bishops, but they don't matter if king stays on white. Move white's king to B7 and you get checkmate on black. Seems straight forward, but computers will get lost on all the potential moves with the 3 bishops.

You can't move the king to b7. It would be in check.

Just keep moving the king in white squares and declare a draw after 50 moves.
