Description | The games of the great
positional giants of chess - like Karpov, Kramnik, and Carlsen - show
them consistently using little tactics and concrete calculation to
advance their positional goals. GM Sam Shankland will address this topic
in detail, showing examples of cases where one needs a high level of
tactical awareness as well as precise calculation to make comparatively
modest gains. And Sam’s DVD set “The Shankland Method” will be
available for sale at a discount!
GM Sam Shankland is a two-time Olympiad Gold Medalist (2014 and 2016), a former World Under 18 co-champion (2008), and winner of several high-level international events. He has worked as an analyst for the reigning World Champion, Magnus Carlsen, training with him to prepare for the 2014 and 2016 World Championship matches. A buffet dinner will be provided for all attendees. |
