QUAD 1
NM Farzad Abdi plays NM Ryan Sowa, Round 3.
Farzad and Ryan scored 2 points to share 1-2nd place.
QUAD 2
Rajesh Coimbatore Shanmugasundaram vs Zubin Mohandas 
Bagila, Round 1. Rajesh scored 2.5 points to share 1-2nd
place in Quad 2. This is Rajesh's first USCF tournament
and the first visit to the BCC. Welcome Rajesh!
Rajesh created a 2223 provisional rating at the end of this
event. Bravo, Rajesh!
Joseph Perl, Esq. plays white vs Zubin Bagila, Round 3.
Joe scored 2.5 points to share 1-2nd place in Quad 2.
QUAD 3
Thomas Fang vs Maxwell Chen, Round 3. Thomas scored
2.5 points to take clear 1st place in Quad 3. Max was 2nd

QUAD 4
Harvard math student, David Stoner, plays white vs
Soren Sandmann Pedersen in Round 3. David won the
section with 2.5 points; Soren was 2nd with 1.5 points.
QUAD 5
Brian Zijian Yin (red) plays white vs David Milliern,
Round 3. Brian scored 2 points to take clear 1st place
and David scored 1.5 points to share 2-3rd place.
QUAD 6
Alexander Fang Meng plays Boshen Li, Round 3.
Boshen scored a perfect 3 points to take clear 1st place.

QUAD 7
CRITICAL GAME
Benjamin Yin, black vs Steve Stepak, Round 1.
Stepak sacked a pawn for a perpetual check draw but
decided to go on to play for the win as Benjamin had
2 minutes left on his clock at the time of the draw
possibility. With 30 seconds left on Benjamin's clock,
Steve stepped on a land-mine, losing his queen in a
knight fork and had to resign. Benjamin went on to
score 2.5 points to take clear 1st place.
David Martin scored 2 points to take clear 2nd place.

Sophia Zada Rosenholtz, black vs Michelle Zhang,
Round 3. Sophia scored a perfect 3 points to take clear
1st place in the Small Swiss, with a rating upgrade of
+89 to 1381. Brava Sophia!
Will Wisdom plays white vs Michelle Zhang, who
outplayed Will in a complex endgame. Both Will and
Michelle scored 2 points to share 2-3rd place.
