John Curdo, the New England chess legend, was recently profiled by Mark Arsenault for the Boston Globe. Though he doesn't venture into Boston for tournaments much these days - he used to be active at the BCC and the Metropolitan Chess League - he still plays all around Mass - most recently in Sturbridge.
