On Sat Jan 15, FM Chris Chase (3.5)
won the open section (which included 8 masters; n=24) of the $10 Open,and Timothy Lung (3.5; right) took the U1800 section (n=15.)
The ever-popular event drew 39 players, 18 of whom paid only $8 through the paypal option, making this one of the best chess bargains in the area.

With this tournament, Chris also re-climbed over 2400 for the first time since around the summer of 2000.
