Chess Child -- The Story of Ray Robson, America's Youngest Grandmaster

Dear Chess Friends,

The Bolyston Chess Club Library has recently acquired a copy of Chess Child: The Story of Ray Robson, America's Youngest Grandmaster, by Gary Robson.

A heartfelt and deeply detailed account of Ray's road to chess success, as seen through his father's eyes, Chess Child examines how one boy's path to Grandmaster changes both his and his family's life forever. The book is filled with anecdotes about the American chess scene that any chess player will enjoy. Gary also deeply reflects on the meaning of the grandmaster title, the nature of prodigal accomplishment, and how to best nurture a child's outsized talent while otherwise maintaining a normal and interesting life.

I've been informed that Gary Robson is offering a special until the end of March for U.S. chess players. Normally, Chess Child: The Story of Ray Robson, America's Youngest Grandmaster retails for $16, but in March they will sell individual copies of the book to U.S. chess players for $12.

All orders ship via Media Mail, which takes from 7 - 13 days for delivery. Payment should be made by a single check or money order, payable to Nipa Hut Press, 2340 Anna Ave., Clearwater, FL 33765.

100% of the proceeds from all sales will go towards Ray's chess expenses (training and events). You can learn more about the book and Ray by visiting their website:
