MOST EXCITING GAME
Down to the wire: seconds to play!! FM Bill Kelleher, Senior World
Chess Champion, 2011, former FIDE Vice President and many time
winner of MACA tournaments, and a blitz chess specialist, tries to
pull a rabbit out of a hat after dropping a rook! Up against
NU Professor of Physics NM Timothy Sage, and with 2 seconds
on the clock, Bill could not find the key (or the hare)
and was about to be check-mated when he resigned.
Professor Sage scored 2.5 points for a +16 to 2190 rating.
U1950 SECTION
Jarrod Tavares, black vs Eric Feng;
(background): Jeremy Bader, black vs Seth Lieberman.
Jarrod scored 3.5/4 to share 1-2nd place with
Jeremy Bader. Jarrod was +5 to 2042 rating.
Eric was impressive with 3 points, 3-4th place, and a +57 to
1792 rating. Jeremy was +15 to 1946; and Seth with 1.5 points,
a +17 hike to 1714 rating.

told by GM Larry Christiansen, his contemporary and friend.
INTRO AND STORIES
Larry shares some funny stories about GM Tony Miles as his
wife Natasha stands by enjoying it. The Christiansen family
were the generous sponsors of this event; they guaranteed the
$1,000 prize fund and paid out appearance fees to top titled players.
