The Weaver Adams U1800 Championship begins the annual club championship cycle. It is followed by the Reubens-Landey U2200 Championship, the winner of which is seeded into the club championship - a round robin tournament of Boylston masters

Description:4SS. 40/90 G/20; 
Open to BCF members rated Under 1800; 
Entry fee: $20
Winner becomes the Boylston U1800 Champion and receives free entry into the Reubens/Landey U2199 - 1800 BCF Championship beginning on 7/1. 
Registration: 6:30 to 6:55; Rounds: 7:00

by a talley of 73 to 39. Also, with his performance in the Mass Open, Nathan's rating has gone over 2000, to 2020.

GRANDMASTER LARRY CHRISTIANSEN PLEASES CROWD IN SIMUL AT SOUTH STATION, BOSTON

Three-time US Chess Champion and World Cup Tromso, Norway 2013 qualifier GM Larry Christiansen performed yet another successful simultaneous exhibition of his chess skills at South Station, Boston, Tuesday, May 21, 2013.  The spectators were impressed at the quickness and accuracy of Larry's moves. 
And the kids loved him.

GM LARRY CHRISTIANSEN QUALIFIES FOR WORLD CUP OF CHESS IN TROMSE, NORWAY 2013


GM Larry Christiansen from Cambridge, MA will present a
simultaneous exhibition, tomorrow, May 21st
Tuesday: 5:00PM at South Station.
Larry is a former US Chess Champion. And,
it was just announced that LarryC qualifies for the
World Cup of Chess, which is a single-elimination tournament
scheduled for August 10th through September 5th in Tromse, Norway. The top 2 winners of this event go to the Candidate Cycle to compete for the challenger spot for the World Chess Championship. Congratulations Larry!

Chase finished with 3 points, placing 2-5th. Brattain had 2.5 points, taking clear 6th.

tournament at the BCC, after taking the March BCC Chess Camp. Welcome Eric!

YOUTH AND WISDOM SHINE IN MAY GRAND PRIX: 2 PERFECT SCORES

JESSE NICHOLAS, BOSTON COLLEGE SOPHOMORE REIGNS SUPREME IN PREMIER SECTION OF BOYLSTON CHESS CLUB MAY GRAND PRIX EVENT
Jesse Nicholas, put +13 on his rating (now 2178) by scoring a perfect 4-0 
in the BCC Grand Prix, Open Section. Jesse is playing solid, creative chess,
and no doubt will attain master level soon. Keep up the good work, Jesse!

Harold Dondis, Esq, plays white vs Jesse Nicholas.
Harold won "Best Hat" award of the GP event.
Carey Theil plays white vs Jason Tang, Round 3. Carey clinched
2nd place with a 3.5 point score.
JUNIOR STAR OF THE DAY: CARISSA YIP


8 yr old Carissa Yip scored 3 points to post 3rd place in BCC GP Open Section.
Carissa gave her rating a +48 point boost to 1912. Brava, Carissa!

Carissa is a force to be reckoned with: solid technique, fearless momentum.

that Carissa was winning.  A well-played game by both veteran and youngster alike.
Keep your eyes on Carissa. She is not only chess-smart but also poised
and mature beyond her young years. Carissa, keep the creative fires burning brightly!
