SERIOUS YET FRIENDLY
Timothy O'Malley, undefeated with 3.5 points takes sole
possession of 1st place to advance to the Reubens Landey
which is a 4SS open tournament for players rated 1800 to 2199.
Tim went +40 to 1773 rating and with the win of the
Weaver Adams, gets a free entry into the Reubens Landey.
CRITICAL GAME
Soren Sandmann Pedersen, playing black tried hard for the win.
Bravo for Soren's fighting chess; yet Pedersen eschewed the draw
and O'Malley brought home the full point. A valiant effort by
the players, gentlemen, and good sportsmen both.
Soren scored a respectable 3 points and was clear 2nd.
Chen Bai vs Mike Griffin, Round 3.
Mike scored 2.5 points, good for 3rd place.
BATTLE OF THE HATS
Harold Dondis, Esq. vs Ray Behenna, Round 3.
Harold scored 50 percent with 2 points and a share of 4-6th place.
Dean Emeritus Robert Oresick plays white vs
Thomas William Pendergast. Bob, a former winner of this
event (2003, 2005) made a respectable performance of
2/4 and a +15 to 1607 rating, taking a share of 4-6th place,
after a year of convalescing from medical issues.
Welcome back Bob!
THE 9TH PLAYER
Bernardo Iglesias was 2/3 with a share of 4-6th
place as well as serving as event TD.

This is an open tournament. That means if you are a BCC member and are
listed in the USCF July 2014 Rating Supplement with a rating 1800 to 2199,
you too can play in this event. Just show up and pay the entry fee!
