The next Collins Cup Qualifier is almost upon us, ready just around the corner to grant one player entry into Boston's premier outdoor blitz tournament, and to enthrall dozens of others with an afternoon of chess fun. The current forecast calls for a hot, clear day, so be ready to play outside, and make sure to stay cool and hydrated - maybe with the help of some refreshment from Harvard Square's many fine shops and cafes!  Games Everyone Can Enjoy

Unlike with previous CCQ events, which have had to restrict themselves to qualification-eligible players due to high demand, the relaxed Summer format means that everyone and anyone is welcome to enjoy the chess festivities, beginners and masters alike (though players rated over 2200 will not be eligible for prizes). No matter what your level of chess experience, this Sunday offers an opportunity to play great games and make new friends and rivals on a sunny chess afternoon. fighting for the center  But Wait, There's More!

This won't be the last qualifier of the season! The Fall Last Chance Qualifier arrives on Saturday, September 28th. One day later, the four qualifier winners will join Massachusetts' strongest masters for the 2nd ever William Collins Speed Chess Championship!
