Checking out the bar scene

Who needs chess clubs and community centers?
Jillian's, a bar in downtown Albany, N.Y., known for its big-screen TVs tuned to sports channels, dance club, pool hall and video arcade, is about to experiment with a little cross-marketing: it will host a chess tournament this summer....

Players will match up against five opponents in a series of 10-minute games. A no-talking rule has been waived and good-natured "trash talking" will be allowed.
