Secret Chinese chess training techniques

At age 14, Yi Song received the women's master title and that year was ranked the 10th best woman chess player in China. Today, she is a graduate student at the University of Delaware. In addition to her studies, she coaches kids on UD's College School chess team. However, she has learned that she can't simply replicate the techniques of her former coach in China.
"There's a cultural difference between American and Chinese kids," Song said. "When I was with my coach, he often made me cry but you can't do that here."
