NM Nathan Solon vs Jake Garbarino, Round 1.
Nathan scored 3 points to clinch sole 1st place.
Nathan also served as an assistant TD. Bravo, Nathan!
QUAD 2

Nicholas Balous vs Derek Jin, Round 2.
Derek was undefeated with 2 draws and a win for 2 points,
enough to secure sole position of 1st place. Bravo, Derek!
QUAD 3
Joaquin Carlson, Black vs WCM Natasha Christiansen, 
Round 3. Great position for white on Natasha's way
to scoring a perfect 3-0 score for 1st place.
Natasha also served as an assistant TD for the event.

Daniel Wang vs Benjamin Yin, Round 1.
Benjamin scored 2.5 points to take clear 1st place,
and a +53 point upgrade in rating to 1705.

QUAD 5
Will Wisdom playing black in an extra game with 
Maya Figelman. Will scored 3 points in Quad 5 to take 
clear 1st place as well as winning his extra game with 
Maya for a total win count of 4! (Background standing, left to right):

SMALL SWISS
Riya Kanury setting up her game with enthusiasm,
in Round 1. Riya won all her games for a perfect
3-0 score and a clear 1st place in the Small Swiss.
Riya earned a +43 upgrade to her rating, now
standing at 1424. Brava, Riya!

Steve had a move for winning chances in the
late middle game but was caught napping 
and plunged into the abyss of darkness
to lose the contest in a most painful manner.

Bob Oresick, black vs Peter Anton Teodorescu, Round 1.
Bob gave top seed Peter a run for his money in Quad 5, and
won this encounter. Devastated, Peter quit the event, forgetting
that the quad format requires the players to play all
3 rounds with no byes or withdrawals, except for serious
medical or life-threatening emergencies.
